The Challenge of Receptionists



Being a member of the front desk personnel, you are expected to perform at a certain level, one that upholds customer care and satisfaction as the top priority. As receptionists serve to be the faces of the company, they hold the burden of making good impressions upon the customers. It’s thus important for receptionists to understand that every transaction that takes place on the front desk, whether they happen face to face or over the phone, should be positive and productive ones. This is key to make sure that customers are happy and that they keep coming back. Though there may be unavoidable situations that may inevitably occur at the front desk, such as waiting lines, receptionists must be able to communicate to customers that they will be attended to momentarily. Each customer should be greeted with the same positive and upbeat attitude as the first one. This may be quite challenging considering the different personalities of clients and their concern, but this is what is needed to deliver good customer service. Being able to perform at such a level of care for customers is crucial if a company wishes to portray to their clients how much they value them.
