In order for dental receptionists to stay on top of their phone skills, they should follow certain important guidelines in dental office receptionists scripts. These includes having a pen and paper ready for use next to the phone, smiling before answering the phone, and asking for the caller’s appointment.


Writing down information while you are talking to the person on the phone is very important. It should first include the person’s name and other details that are needed so the dentist already have an idea about the person’s appointment. Saying the caller’s name before you hang up the phone can also contribute to the overall positive experience of the caller.

A smile can tell a lot about a person. Thus, before answering the phone, smile and make sure you are not slouching. The smile and your posture can be ‘perceived’ by the caller, as they listen to someone who appear enthusiastic and relatable.
